"My 60th birthday presents were
Ergo EUB #289 and a flight in a
Tiger Moth biplane. My friend Bob
the Weatherman snapped me
playing the Ergo on the dock --
and yes, the dock resonates to the
sound of the Ergo! Bob remarked
that the Ergo's design lets it get
closer to your centre and your soul,
and I think he's on to something.
Its design is far and away more
playable than any upright I've used.
First day I had it, I played it for 3 hours straight on a jazz gig at a
country club where the likes of Martin Short and Henri Richard hang
out -- after 5 years not playing standup -- and it felt as good on the
last tune as on the first. One of the patrons said it best: "(Hic)
Wheresh the resht of the bass (urp)? Thash amazing!"

Blue, you are the King of the Low Note Machine!"
